Terms of Service
Effective August 15, 2026
ParentPath is an information and organization platform. It does not replace a lawyer, duty counsel, a notary, or official court instructions.
1. Agreement
These Terms govern your use of ParentPath Court Navigator, operated by Parent Path Technologies Inc. By creating an account or using ParentPath, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
2. Legal information only
ParentPath provides general legal information, court education, organization tools, working-draft support, and optional legal-team collaboration tools. ParentPath is not a law firm. It does not provide legal advice, legal representation, notarization, or guaranteed results. ParentPath itself does not create a lawyer-client relationship. If you already have or separately retain a lawyer, your relationship with that professional is governed by your agreement with that professional, not by ParentPath. You remain responsible for deadlines, evidence, forms, filings, service, court attendance, and decisions about your case unless your own lawyer has expressly taken responsibility for a particular matter.
3. Jurisdiction limits
ParentPath case organization is designed for use in Canada and the United States. Jurisdiction-specific legal information is controlled separately for each Canadian province or territory and each U.S. state or the District of Columbia, and is exposed only from current source records that pass ParentPath’s release controls for the confirmed case jurisdiction. An unreleased jurisdiction remains case-organization only. Family law, court structure, terminology, forms, filing rules, and procedure can differ by jurisdiction and sometimes by local court. A physical location suggestion does not determine legal jurisdiction. Confirm the correct jurisdiction, court, law, forms, and procedure before relying on jurisdiction-specific material.
4. Account responsibilities
You must provide accurate account information, protect your credentials, and promptly report suspected unauthorized access. You may not share an account in a way that exposes another person’s confidential information or bypasses plan limits and access controls.
5. Acceptable use
You may not use ParentPath to threaten, harass, stalk, impersonate, defame, evade a court order, conceal or destroy evidence, create false records, file misleading material, violate privacy rights, exploit children, distribute malware, scrape restricted data, probe security controls, or interfere with the service. ParentPath may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, or the public.
6. User content
You retain responsibility for information and files you enter or upload. You confirm that you have the right to use, store, and share that material. You grant ParentPath the limited permission needed to host, process, display, secure, and transmit the content solely to operate the requested features. ParentPath does not send case information to CounselPath merely because you recorded a lawyer or selected a represented-client mode. A transfer requires an explicit sharing authorization. A compatible ongoing CounselPath connection may return only supported client-facing items to ParentPath. You may also send case-linked messages through an active connection to the exact connected CounselPath professional. A queued-message withdrawal is not a guaranteed recall: if CounselPath has already retrieved a message before ParentPath receives delivery acknowledgement, the professional may already have the content. Revoking the ongoing connection stops new return items and new secure messages through that connection but does not erase information already received by either side.
7. AI and generated drafts
AI responses and generated drafts may be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. They are working materials, not prescribed court forms or legal opinions. You must review important content, verify official sources, and obtain professional help when needed. Do not file an AI-generated document without checking the applicable court requirements.
8. Community features
Community posts and comments are user-generated and may be inaccurate. Before posting or commenting, users must accept the Community Guidelines and these Terms. Do not post identifying details about children, private court records, addresses, medical information, threats, harassment, contact information, external links, explicit material, or content prohibited by law or court order. Users can report objectionable content and block other community accounts. ParentPath may moderate, hide, preserve, or remove content, restrict abusive accounts, and cooperate with lawful investigations.
9. Notary and commissioner provider listings
Notary partners are independent service providers. Approval indicates completion of ParentPath’s administrative review process, not a guarantee of suitability, availability, price, outcome, or professional conduct. The notary remains responsible for professional obligations and the user remains responsible for confirming the service meets the relevant legal requirements.
10. Connected apps and third-party services
ParentPath may offer optional user-scoped scheduling connections to Google, Microsoft, and Zoom. These connections operate only after you authorize the applicable provider and are intended for user-requested calendar-event or meeting creation. ParentPath does not guarantee that a third-party provider, account type, calendar, or meeting feature will remain available, and provider outages, policy changes, account restrictions, or permission changes can affect the connection. Disconnecting a provider removes ParentPath’s stored provider credentials but does not delete calendar events or meetings already created in that provider. You remain responsible for confirming dates, times, recipients, meeting links, and external calendar entries. Apple Calendar and other compatible calendars may be used through .ics export without an account connection.
11. Fees and subscriptions
ParentPath is free to use in the current release and does not require a subscription or credit card for core case-organization features. Paid purchases are disabled. ParentPath may offer optional auto-renewable digital subscriptions in a future release through the Apple App Store or Google Play. If that occurs, the applicable store will display the final localized price, billing period, taxes if applicable, trial or introductory terms if offered, and renewal terms before purchase. Payment would be charged by the applicable store account, not directly by ParentPath. Web checkout is not active unless ParentPath expressly provides a separate web purchase flow. Notary and other real-world professional-service fees are separate from ParentPath software access unless expressly stated.
12. Availability and changes
ParentPath may change, suspend, or discontinue features to address security, legal, technical, or business requirements. New or limited-release features may change or be withdrawn. ParentPath does not guarantee uninterrupted access or that every court form, deadline, or resource will always be current.
13. Disclaimers and liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ParentPath is provided without guarantees of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, legal outcome, or uninterrupted operation. Parent Path Technologies Inc. is not responsible for losses caused by missed deadlines, incorrect filings, reliance on generated content, user misconduct, third-party services, unauthorized account access, or decisions made without independent verification.
14. Termination and deletion
You may stop using ParentPath and request account and associated-data deletion through Settings or the public deletion page. ParentPath verifies public web requests before processing, restricts account access during preparation, removes application records from active use and the app authentication identity, deletes ParentPath-side external-integration credentials and event-link mappings, and tracks private-file deletion through a controlled purge process. Final ParentPath processing is blocked while any queued private storage object lacks recorded deletion verification. Removing ParentPath-side provider credentials does not itself delete events or meetings already created in Google, Microsoft, Zoom, Apple Calendar, or another external service. Base44 currently documents a platform recovery window in which deleted table records may remain restorable for up to 30 days, and limited backup copies may persist until the provider’s automatic backup intervals expire. Limited redacted records may also be retained for security, fraud prevention, transaction accounting, dispute handling, or legal compliance. ParentPath may suspend or terminate access for serious or repeated violations, security threats, unlawful conduct, non-payment after paid services launch, or legal requirements.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without limiting rights that cannot legally be waived. Any dispute must be brought in a court with lawful jurisdiction unless the parties agree to another lawful resolution process.
16. Changes to these Terms
ParentPath may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted in the service with a revised effective date. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
