Privacy Policy

Effective August 15, 2026

ParentPath handles sensitive family information. Enter only what you need, keep your account secure, and download or share files carefully.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how Parent Path Technologies Inc. handles information through ParentPath Court Navigator. ParentPath supports case organization in Canada and the United States and maintains separate jurisdiction records for Canadian provinces and territories and U.S. states and the District of Columbia. Jurisdiction-specific legal information is exposed only from current records that pass ParentPath’s source and release controls. Unreleased jurisdictions remain case-organization only. ParentPath is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice or representation.

2. Information you provide

You may provide account details, jurisdiction and case information, representation status, lawyer or law-firm contact details you choose to record, timeline events, private case-linked journal entries, quick notes, document drafts, community content, community reports and block relationships, AI-response safety reports, notary requests, evidence metadata, CounselPath connection records, secure case-linked client messages you send through a connection, and client-facing items returned by a connected legal professional. If you choose Google or Apple for web account sign-in, the provider and Base44 process the authentication request and ParentPath receives the account identity information made available for sign-in, such as an identifier, name, or email address. Using Google or Apple to sign in does not by itself grant ParentPath access to Google Calendar, Gmail, Google Drive, iCloud, contacts, photos, or other provider content. Private evidence files may only be accepted when the private-storage feature is enabled for your account. Journal entries are not automatically filed, disclosed, or shared with another party. Do not enter or upload information that you are not legally permitted to possess, store, or share.

3. Information collected automatically

ParentPath and its hosting providers may process technical information needed to operate and protect the service, such as authentication records, device and browser information, IP-derived location estimates, error information, and security logs. Device location is requested only through an explicit permission flow. You may use manual jurisdiction selection instead.

4. How information is used

Information is used to authenticate users, operate case-organization features, provide jurisdiction-specific resources, support optional represented-client and legal-team collaboration features, enforce feature limits, generate working drafts, process notary requests, moderate community content, enforce user blocks, review flagged AI responses to improve safety controls, maintain security, investigate misuse, improve reliability, and meet legal obligations.

5. AI processing

The AI Court Assistant is optional. Before ParentPath sends an AI request, you must explicitly allow AI data processing. When you use the AI Court Assistant, your question and relevant case context selected for that request may be processed by ParentPath, Base44, and the AI service used for that request. The current ParentPath organization-AI integration requests an Anthropic Claude model through Base44. This may include sensitive family-case information you supplied to ParentPath. ParentPath does not use this information for advertising. You can withdraw AI processing permission in the AI Assistant at any time; withdrawing permission blocks future AI requests but does not itself delete AI conversations already saved in your account. Those records are handled under ParentPath’s retention and account-deletion controls. Base44 may support or use other listed AI subprocessors as its platform changes. Jurisdiction-specific legal-information mode uses only current verified source records that satisfy ParentPath’s release controls for the confirmed case jurisdiction. AI output is not legal advice. Verify important information and official sources independently before acting or filing anything with a court.

6. Service providers, location, and disclosure

ParentPath is hosted on Base44. Base44’s current documentation states that app data is stored in the United States by default unless a supported workspace data-residency option is configured, and that processing may involve its contracted subprocessors. Base44’s current subprocessor list includes providers for database/hosting, media storage, email delivery, logging/analytics, and AI processing, including Mongo, SendGrid, Render, Google Cloud, Supabase, DataDog, Anthropic, OpenAI, and Wix-related services. ParentPath may also disclose information when legally required, to protect users or the public, or to investigate fraud, security incidents, or prohibited conduct. Your case records are intended to be restricted to your account and authorized administrators required to operate, secure, or support the service. If you deliberately create a CounselPath sharing authorization, only the scopes and selected records you authorize are sent to the professional who redeems that authorization. A compatible redeemed connection may send client-facing tasks, messages, appointments, reviewed text, approved summaries, or status updates back to your ParentPath inbox. You may also send case-linked client messages to the exact connected CounselPath professional through ParentPath; those messages are queued server-side and the connection credential is never exposed to the ParentPath browser client. Lawyer-private strategy, staff notes, internal work product, and other professional-private material are not intended to cross automatically. You can revoke an ongoing CounselPath return connection from ParentPath; revocation does not delete information a professional already lawfully received.

7. Connected calendars and meeting providers

ParentPath may let you optionally connect your own Google, Microsoft, or Zoom account for scheduling. These connections are user-scoped and are not shared across ParentPath customers. ParentPath requests limited scheduling permissions needed to create calendar events or meeting links when you explicitly choose that action. ParentPath does not import your full personal calendar into your case workspace and does not request Gmail, Outlook email, Google Drive, contacts, meeting recordings, transcripts, or chat access as part of this feature. Provider access and refresh tokens are stored only in server-controlled connection records in encrypted form and are not returned to the browser. Disconnecting removes ParentPath’s stored provider tokens; events or meetings already created in the third-party service remain there unless you remove them through that provider. Apple Calendar and other compatible calendars can be used through standard .ics export without connecting an account. Third-party providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies.

8. Storage, retention, and deletion

ParentPath retains information while your account is active and as reasonably required for service operation, security, dispute handling, and legal obligations. An account-deletion request triggers ownership verification, a data inventory, access restriction, deletion from active application tables, removal of the app authentication identity, and a controlled private-file purge process. ParentPath does not mark a queued private file as deleted until storage deletion has been separately verified and recorded. Base44’s current app-data documentation states that deleted table records can remain recoverable in its Recently Deleted area for up to 30 days before permanent removal, and its Data Processing Addendum permits limited backup copies to persist until automatic backup intervals expire. Those provider-held recovery or backup copies are not treated as active ParentPath records and must remain subject to the provider’s privacy and security obligations until removed. Limited redacted records may also be retained when reasonably required for security, fraud prevention, transaction accounting, dispute handling, or another legal obligation.

9. Your choices

You may update profile, representation, lawyer-contact, and case information through the app. You may revoke an active CounselPath return connection, disconnect Google, Microsoft, or Zoom scheduling access, mark returned client-facing items complete or dismissed, and choose what case information to share through a new authorization. You may initiate account and associated-data deletion in Settings or through the public account-deletion page, including after uninstalling the app. ParentPath verifies ownership before processing public web requests. Deletion removes the account from active ParentPath use, including ParentPath-side CounselPath grants, connections, secure client messages, returned client items, encrypted external-provider tokens, and external-event mapping records, subject to the provider recovery/backup periods and limited legal/security retention described above.

10. Children

ParentPath is intended for adults managing their own family law matters. It is not designed for children to create accounts. Adults must take care when entering information about children and should include only information reasonably necessary for their case organization.

11. Security

ParentPath uses authentication, role-based access controls, row-level data rules, private-file access links, and administrative review processes. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Protect your password, device, email account, and downloaded files.

12. Changes

This policy may be updated as ParentPath changes. Material changes will be posted in the service with a revised effective date.
